The 12-week PetPrep Challenge
Ready for a pet. There for its whole life.
Before a real pet comes home, your child cares for a lifelike AI pet for 12 weeks — feeding, cleaning up and going on real walks. You see every day whether they are truly ready.
- Mixed-breed pet free forever
- No ads, no chat with strangers
- No email needed for kids

Every family hears “I promise I'll take care of it.” PetPrep turns the promise into proof.
Failing in the simulation is a success for your family: you find out before a real animal suffers — and before you commit to years of care and costs.
How it works
Three steps from “please” to “ready”.
You choose the pet
Create a family account, add your child with just a nickname and choose the pet — breed, adopted or from a breeder, puppy or senior.
Your child signs the promise
A 6-digit code logs your child in — no email, no password. They sign the Responsibility Contract with a finger and their one-of-a-kind pet is born.
12 weeks of real care
One real week is one month of the pet's life. At the end: a Certificate of Responsibility with the Care Score — objective proof, or an honest no.

As close to a real pet as an app can get.
Feeding times, walks and growth are based on sources such as veterinary associations and kennel clubs — not made up for a game.
Real walks, real steps
The daily walk counts steps from your child's phone. No walk at all today? The pet feels it tomorrow.
It grows up
A puppy eats four times a day, then three, then two — and gets a new photo as it grows.
It behaves like one
Puppies need to go out. Bored dogs chew slippers. Messes come before dinner.
Respects school and sleep
Quiet hours pause reminders. A meal that falls during school is yours, not your child's.
Real consequences, gently
Neglect means a vet visit or the shelter — never scary, always with a fresh start.
One of a kind
Every pet gets its own coat, markings and eyes — photorealistic and never the same twice.
For parents
You see the truth, live.
A clear traffic light for every child, a Care Score built from routines done on time and a timeline of who did what. Siblings sharing a pet each get their own fair score.
- Quiet hours and a pause button — you stay in control.
- Kids log in with a code — no email, no surname, no ads.
- Both parents, all children — one family, one view.

Questions parents ask
What age is PetPrep for?
It is designed for children aged about 7 to 12, and works well up to 16. Adults can also use it to test whether a demanding breed fits their life.
How much time does it take each day?
A few minutes for food, water and cleaning — plus the walk a real dog would need anyway.
Does the app track my child's location?
No. It only counts steps from the phone's motion sensor and asks for that permission when the child opens the walk. GPS is not used.
Does my child need an email address?
No. You create the account; your child logs in with a 6-digit code you generate. We only store a nickname and, optionally, a birth year.
What happens if my child forgets?
The pet first sends gentle reminders. If a need stays at zero, the pet gets ill and spends 12 hours at the vet. After a full day without care, the virtual shelter takes it — and you can start again.
